With the continued closure of gyms, we have seen a big increase in the amount of people hitting the pavements and either increasing their running miles or taking up jogging for the first time.
Unfortunately, we have also seen an increase in the amount of running injuries we are seeing in clinic.
We have an exciting virtual event coming up for our BalanceNorth community that will help tackle some of these queries and give you some clinical information on the best way to begin running and avoid pain/ injuries.
Topics which will be covered include:
- How to build up your running distance safely to avoid injury, including insight into easy-to-follow running plans
- The best tips for recovery after running and how to minimise injury risk
- Education on running technique and how to apply simple cues to help improve your running efficiency
- Sports and recovery nutrition.
Join our APA Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist, Mairead Hallissey and Accredited Dietitian Ellen Anderson for this FREE virtual event. This is a complimentary session but pre-event registration is necessary via this webinar registration link.
Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the BalanceNorth staff if you have any queries or are having trouble signing up to this event.
Date: 16 September 2021
Time: 6.30pm-7.30pm via Zoom.
