Vestibular physiotherapy is a specialised field within physiotherapy focused on diagnosing and managing symptoms related to the vestibular system, such as balance, dizziness and vertigo.
Your physiotherapist will begin with a thorough assessment of your symptoms, which may include performing specific tests. Based on this evaluation, they can often diagnose your condition and develop a tailored treatment plan.
In some cases, your physiotherapist may refer you to a neurologist for additional evaluations, which might involve hearing tests, brain MRI scans, blood tests, and further balance function assessments.
Vestibular physiotherapy typically includes exercises aimed at:
Inducing mild dizziness to help your vestibular system adapt and accept the sensation (habituation exercises).
Enhancing coordination between your eyes and head.
Strengthening and challenging your vestibular balance system while walking.
Your physiotherapist might also employ techniques such as the Epley maneuver to alleviate vertigo symptoms.

A pelvic health physiotherapy consultation is a comprehensive, one-on-one session designed to assess and address a variety of pelvic floor issues, whether related to bladder, bowel, sexual health, pregnancy or pelvic pain.
During the consultation, a skilled physiotherapist will take a detailed health history and discuss any concerns or symptoms you’re experiencing. This may include conditions such as urinary incontinence, constipation, or post-surgical recovery.
The physiotherapist will conduct a thorough physical assessment involving external examinations, to evaluate muscle strength, coordination, and alignment of the pelvic region. They may ask questions about your sexual history, bladder and bowel habits and any birthing history. They will then work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan, which could include pelvic floor exercises, manual therapy, postural correction, relaxation techniques, or education on lifestyle modifications.
The goal of the session is to help you improve pelvic health, alleviate discomfort, and enhance quality of life by restoring balance and function to the pelvic floor.
Please note that currently we cannot conduct internal pelvic examinations. This appointment type is for a general consultation relating to pelvic health.

-
Maternal Health Initial Consult (60 mins) — $175
Maternal Health Subsequent Consult (45 mins) — $145Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plans welcome, please note full consultation payment is required before a Medicare rebate can be processed with a valid EPC.
Maternal health consultations are customised for expectant and new mothers, focusing on treating or preventing pregnancy-related discomfort. During the session, the physiotherapist will first discuss any current pain or injury concerns and perform a physical assessment to create a personalised treatment plan. The physiotherapist may also recommend pelvic strengthening exercises, including targeted pelvic floor muscle work. They can also guide safe exercise during pregnancy and assist you in returning to higher level exercise postnatally.
You don’t need to be experiencing pain to benefit from a session, as physiotherapy is highly recommended to help prevent discomfort or injury both during and after pregnancy.

HEAL (Rehab & Strength)
Our HEAL (Rehab & Strength) classes are small, supportive sessions (capped at 4 participants) led by an experienced physiotherapist. Each participant follows their own personalised exercise program tailored to their specific needs. The exercises are chosen using an evidence-based approach, incorporating clinical Pilates, joint mobility, and low-impact strengthening or balance exercises. Unlike our Strength & Conditioning classes, these sessions are designed to bridge the gap between your acute or subacute injuries and the functional goals you’ve established with your practitioner during your exercise assessment. At the start of each session, the physiotherapist will check in on your condition and adjust the class to meet your current needs. The class duration is 45 minutes and a physiotherapist will be present at all times during the session.
Our physio group exercise classes are small class groups of maximum four participants led by physiotherapists. Physio-led group exercise classes are claimable with your private health insurance cover. Please note clients are required to have an exercise assessment and 3x 1:1 exercise sessions with a physio before attending these classes.
EMPOWER (Strength & Conditioning)
Our EMPOWER (Strength & Conditioning) classes take a more advanced approach to clinical rehabilitation, offering a small-group environment (up to 4 participants). Led by our skilled physiotherapists, these sessions focus on performance-driven exercises tailored to your specific goals. Whether you’re returning to sport, improving technique, or seeking a more challenging workout, this class is designed to build strength, enhance movement quality, and boost overall performance.
We use an evidence-based approach, blending functional strength training, expert guidance on complex lifts, and key components of our standard PGE classes – emphasising progression and performance. At the start of each session, your physiotherapist will check in with you and adapt your program as needed.
Each 45-minute session is fully supervised to ensure safe and effective training, pushing your limits while prioritising injury prevention.
Physio-led group exercise classes are claimable with your private health insurance cover. Please note clients are required to have an exercise assessment and one 1:1 exercise session with a physio before attending these classes.

Medicare Rebates
Rebates can be claimed through Medicare, reducing your out-of-pocket costs. Currently, 10 sessions can be claimed every calendar year. Full fees must be paid up front before rebates can be processed. Private health rebates for psychology depend on your provider and level of cover, it’s always a good idea to check with them making a booking.
To be eligible for a Medicare rebate, you will need to be referred to Balance North by a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician. As part of this process, your doctor will complete a Mental Health Care Plan. If accessed by a GP, let your GP clinic know that you are seeking a Mental Health Care Plan when you book your appointment so that extra time can be allocated for your appointment. Your GP will then either provide you with the referral, or send it directly to Balance North. If the referral has been passed to you, bring it to your first appointment.

Clinical Psychology: Medicare rebate is $141.85 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
